İrem Bezek, Senior Associate at DERIS, shares her thoughts on the INTA 2025 Annual Meeting from the perspective of a young legal professional. In the Q&A below, Irem offers tips for first-time attendees and highlights what excites her most about being part of this global event.

As a young legal professional, what excites you the most about attending INTA? 

Attending INTA for me is like attending the Hall of Fame of the IP world. 

Meeting our clients, networking with industry leaders and fellow young professionals from around the world is something I look forward to! 

What advice would you give to first-time attendees or young attorneys attending the Annual Meeting? 

• Plan wisely: review your agenda and identify key sessions, workshops, and networking events that align with your interests and career goals. 
• Don’t be shy— we are all here as a part of the global community. 
• Wear flat shoes 😊 There will be lots of walking. 

How does INTA provide opportunities for emerging professionals to grow in their careers? 

By being a part of INTA, young professionals gain knowledge and expand their networks in IP. The opportunities for creating global connections make it an invaluable resource for career growth. 

What are you hoping to learn or achieve during this year’s Annual Meeting? 

In addition to seeing our clients, I hope connecting with new IP professionals around the world and meet fellow young professionals to build relationships that could lead to future collaborations. 

Ultimately, my goal is to leave the Annual Meeting feeling inspired, informed, and better connected within the IP community. 

What does attending this event mean for DERIS? What are your main expectations from this year’s meeting? 

For DERIS, INTA is more than just a conference—it’s a platform for growth, and collaboration in the global community. In addition, this year our Senior Partner Mr. Okan Can is the co-host of the meeting and we look forward to witnessing his experience, inspiring the younger generations in the community.  

Which sessions or speakers are you most excited about this year? 

This year’s table topics are very exciting especially for the sessions exploring the relationship between AI and IP further.
