Büşra has significant experience in contracts and negotiations, intellectual property, copyright, know-how and technology transfer, advertising and media - entertainment law, while she is also a qualified trademark attorney.
Büşra's perspective is to bring together the law and expectations of commercial life.
She has represented many leading companies for years in different areas from software, gaming to energy and transportation; from electric-electronic and luxury products to cosmetic and hygiene; from pharmaceuticals to food and beverage; and yet, from streaming media, broadcasting, producers to social media and music/ book platforms.
Instead of just applying legal rules, she helps to combine business and law in a way ensuring companies can both easily progress and be protected. In that regard, she has contributed to fundamental projects and supported business developments
Büşra, who is quite active in contract processes and negotiations, is involved in trademark, design and domain name protection processes from beginning to end, including portfolio management and strategy development. She is significantly experienced in technology transfer projects, compliance review for websites, advertising and media – entertainment projects along with relevant administrative processes, and every kind of work related to copyright.
She tends to resolve disputes before they turn into lawsuits; but, in cases where disputes occur, she does not shy away from litigation processes and implements deep strategies to protect her clients’ position.
- Developing long-term and multifaceted strategies for important matters.
- She developed a two-year strategic plan for a foreign client facing trademark issues in the Turkish food sector due to a conflict with a major local brand. She guided her client on how the use and preparation of evidence should be done according to the law, initiated trademark applications before Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, facilitated the acquisition of similar marks, and ultimately launched a multi-pronged legal action against the adverse party. Due to this long-term strategic plan, her client was able to enter the Turkish market under its trademark, which was globally recognized as Super Brand.
- Conducting large-volume negotiations and contract processes:
- She led the contract drafting and negotiation processes for two major group companies in Turkey regarding high-value, long-term agreements in performing arts. By skillfully expanding the company’s rights to the maximum extent possible, she secured the signing of the deals and enabled the launch of the projects for five years.
- When a global electronics company’s trademark application in Turkey was rejected due to an earlier mark, she conducted searches and discovered the prior mark owner’s international use. She successfully identified her client’s earlier rights in this other jurisdiction. Leveraging this strategically during negotiations, she shifted the outcome entirely in her client’s favor, despite initially unfavorable conditions.
- Leading large-scale projects in advertising law while providing clearance for media and marketing projects:
- She helped to create guidelines related to broadcasting principles, general media and censorship implementation for content and projects in order to guide content selection and project development on streaming media platforms, broadcasting channels, social media accounts.
- She represented a new entrant in the hygiene sector. Responding to repeated complaints before the Advertising Board, she prepared effective defenses that broke a pattern of negative rulings and allowed her client to continue its campaigns without penalties. Simultaneously, she launched well-founded complaints against the competitor before both Advertising Board and Advertising Self-Regulatory Board, resulting in sanctions. With the increasing advertising volume as a result of her strategies, her client began to dominate the market. It was a striking effect for a new company to achieve this result against a world-famous company.
- She identified unauthorized advertising of a dietary supplement brand—registered in bad faith by a third party—that belonged to a global pharmaceutical company. While the trademark invalidation court action progressed slowly, she took rapid and strategic regulatory action, filing complaints before multiple authorities like Advertising Board, Advertising Self-Regulatory Board, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry etc. This led to quick removal of the infringing content and enforcement against the other party, without waiting for the court decision.
- Managing all kinds of projects which require protection under copyright:
- She has supported numerous domestic and international companies, especially technology and gaming firms and start-ups, in structuring and transferring rights related to software, games, code, applications, and developer contributions. This includes regulating moral and economic rights, source code usage, and employment relationships.
- She has managed projects, agreements, deeds, documentations for protection of copyrights, transfer, licensing, limited license or usage rights in different areas and platforms such as song, book, self-care, social media, publishing, modern art reproductions and restorations, museum exhibitions, orchestral works, plays, and voiceover projects for some of world’s and Turkey’s largest companies, enabling the successful realization of each initiative.
- She drafted and negotiated contracts from the very beginning for cartoon series, book-based films, competitions, and games, covering all aspects from production and image rights to voiceovers and music. These comprehensive works ensured copyright protection for authors, related rights holders, performers, and producers.
- Taking part in large-scale works related to both know-how/ technology transfer
- She provided a comprehensive set of legal documents—including gentlemen’s agreement, main contracts, and separate know-how agreements—for a foreign investor entering the Turkish solar energy market. This multi-layered documentation ensured long-term protection of rights related to materials, machinery, and proprietary knowledge.
