This year, as DERIS Intellectual Property Attorneys, we participated in the regular customs training organized by the Ministry of Trade in Cizre and Izmir with our Brand Enforcement Team. Representing 25 right holders from various sectors such as electronics, detergents, chemicals, engine solutions, watches and jewelry, food and beverages, clothing, we provided special training to customs officials. The trainings took place in Cizre district of Şırnak, one of Turkey's strategically important locations, and in the most significant port city of İzmir. The fact that Cizre is on the border with Syria and Iraq and its geographical location is of strategic importance, while Izmir is the 3rdbiggest city of Türkiye located in the Eagean Region important hub for tourist as well as a port city, made the trainings for customs officers in these regions have a special meaning for us. With the presentations made to 200 customs officers, we contributed to raising awareness on intellectual property rights. During the training, we undertook the legal representation of 25 right holders operating in a wide range of sectors and informed them about the problems that may be encountered in customs processes.
